St Fagan's 2014
The Glamorgan Classic Car Show was
held in the grounds of the St.
Fagans Heritage Centre on a really sunny day. It seems churlish to
complain about sun in the summer but it did get hot. Thankfully there
were a number of tall trees to throw welcoming shadows for those of us
with a dainty complexion. Heatstroke, sunburn and a good drive home
donít mix well. Well thatís my story anyway!
The entrance into the show areas was well marshalled with friendly club
members at all of the gates or changes of direction. A hint of what we
need at Singleton as the entry points are no longer manned all day, just
for the short time it takes to get everyone in the park.
We had gone along in convoy with Keith and Celia but when we parked
up, we found Alan and Ann Wingrave just behind us and Kevin Harris
with his Velox over by the fence, not alone after all. We even bumped
into Denzil and Gloria in the Cafť.
Being so close to Cardiff and the
M4, they were able to appeal to a lot
more car owners than us, with a number of cars from the west-country
and other areas over the bridge. This gave a good mixed selection of cars
for the public to wander around with some very clean examples on show
in the sun. There were less trade stands than I thought might be there.
Not much in the way of autojumble to rummage through. At least Sally
was happy that no odd bits of essential spares were going to come home
with us in the car this time. She should know, one can never have enough
